Print Version (MS Word)

ALBUQUERQUE – Post-911 veterans and their family members are invited to a special “Welcome Home” event on June 13 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial, located at 1100 Louisiana Blvd SE, Albuquerque. The Welcome Home event is being held in collaboration with the VHA’s Veteran Justice Outreach and State Bar of New Mexico’s Veteran’s Legal Clinic.

“The purpose of Welcome Home is to serve as a resource fair, providing education and information to the service members and veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn regarding their eligibility for VA benefits and community services,” said Diane Fields, Transition and Care Management Clinic Program Manager for the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS).

Representatives from the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), VET Center, VA Housing Resources, the VA’s Million Veteran Program, Caregiver Support, Suicide Prevention, and Veterans Legal Resources programs will be on hand to answer questions. Also present will be representatives of various veterans’ service organizations.  Refreshments will be offered.

For more information, contact the NMVAHCS Transition and Care Management Program Office at (505) 265-1711, ext. 6425.
