ALBUQUERQUE – The public is invited to a free event on April 28 that will support the 2018 National Veterans Golden Age Games (NVGAG). Doors will open at 9 a.m. on April 28 for the family-oriented, fundraising event that will run until 3 p.m. at the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial, located at 1100 Louisiana Blvd. SE in Albuquerque.

  There will be registration booths for anyone wishing to sign up as Games’ sponsors or volunteers.  Entertainment will include a car show, vendor booths, live music, dancing, food, clowns, face painting, balloons and much more. New Mexico Museum of Military History Vehicles will also be on display at this event, sponsored by the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial.

  Nearly 800 athletes are expected to compete in the National Veterans Golden Age Games, Aug. 3-8 in Albuquerque. The New Mexico VA Health Care System, which provides care for more than 59,000 veterans throughout New Mexico and Southern Colorado, will host this year’s National Veterans Golden Age Games.
